Halacha – Jewish Law Question: A buyer purchases merchandise from a store and asks his friend for an opinion of the purchase. Upon examination, the friend believes the buyer overpaid for the merchandise. What should the friend say to the buyer?


Answer: The Gemara (Kesuvos 16b-17a) says: “Our Rabbis taught: How do we celebrate and praise a Kallah? Bais Shammai says that we praise her as she is. Bais Hillel says that we praise her and say that she is a charming and beautiful Kallah. Bais Shammai said to Bais Hillel, perhaps the Kallah is lame or blind?...

Halacha – Jewish Law Question: If one highly desires a product for sale and is concerned that if the seller perceives the extent of his interest the seller may raise the product’s price, may one pretend to have limited interest in the product without transgressing the prohibition of Genaivas Daas (Deception)?
