Chizuk - Inspiration In World War Two, the Germans set up a factory in the Lodz ghetto to produce boots for their soldiers. The Germans were fighting the Russians in frozen conditions. They needed warm, quality boots and could not afford anything less. Therefore they only wanted expert shoemakers for their boot factory. They warned that if they discovered their laborers lying about their credentials, they would be put to death on the spot.
