Halacha – Jewish Law What To Do If Your Boss Inflates Your Billable Hours

Question: Am I responsible if my boss bills my time for hours that I have not worked?


Rabbi Belsky ZT’L responds: Ideally, you should be double-checking what the boss does to see that he doesn’t inflate the hours that you have worked. You are responsible for watching the honesty of the people who are around you. However, this has its limits. When it comes to your boss, if you start double-checking every one of his actions, you are undertaking a course of action that is admirable, but may annoy him and be counterproductive...
