You are responsible for watching the honesty of the people who are around you. However, this has its limits. When it comes to your boss, if you start double-checking every one of his actions, you are undertaking a course of action that is admirable, but may annoy him and be counterproductive...

We are permitted to lie to save another person from embarrassment. For example, we may admit to something we did not do in order to take the blame for another person, or at least imply that we too were involved in the misdeed if it minimizes the embarrassment of those who are actually guilty...
